Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton have taken time out of preparing for the new Formula 1 season to send a message of support to the National Golf Club Challenge.
The Challenge charity golf day, will take place at golf courses throughout the UK on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July 2010, in support of Help for Heroes.
Recently featured on the European
Tour website, the Challenge will bring hundreds of golf clubs, and thousands of golfers together on the same weekend to compete for some outstanding prizes, including golfing holidays to Egypt.

Jenson Button
“Our troops risk their lives for us on a daily basis and they deserve all the support we can give them. And the Help for Heroes charity is doing a fantastic job of raising people’s awareness to the huge debt we owe our armed forces. This summer’s National Golf Club Challenge will give us all the opportunity to remember the sacrifices made by those fighting on our behalf, and allow us to share in the fundraising work that’s so important to recognise their brave efforts. I hope that your golf club takes up the challenge and that the event is a huge success.
”
Lewis Hamilton
“I’m humbled by the dedication of the brave service men and women working so fearlessly in places like Afghanistan. They are prepared to contribute everything they have – and Help for Heroes has done incredible work to recognise their efforts, and to help and support them in their hour of greatest need. The idea of the National Golf Club Challenge is a great one, and I hope the day shows everyone how hard our troops are working, and helps to provide them with the funding for a brighter future. I hope the day is a successful and enjoyable one for everyone.
