Sky Sports Features Lee Westwood and the Challenge

Sky Sports took the opportunity this week to catch up with Lee Westwood at Wentworth.

The interview was aired on Sky Sports on Tuesday and discusses Lee's recent success, improved world ranking and involvement with the National Golf club Challenge.

Patroning the Challenge Charity Event
Lee spoke of his support for the National Golf Club Challenge charity event on the 24th and 25th of July and encouraged golf clubs all over the UK to get involved.

Lee was keen to point out that clubs can adapt competitions already scheduled for this weekend into a Challenge charity golf day – meaning no golf club needs to miss out in participating in what is sure to be the largest amateur charity golf event the UK has seen.

The National Golf Club Challenge will unite hundreds of golf clubs and thousands of golfers in demonstrating their support for our injured armed forces.

As well as raising a lot of money for the superb Help for Heroes charity, each participating golf club will compete for the right to call itself The Help for Heroes National Golf Club Challenge Champions 2010.

I am honoured to become patron to the challenge and deeply humbled to be asked by Wedgwood to name the National Golf Club Challenge Trophy 'The Lee Westwood Cup' continuing Wedgwood's long tradition of naming their stunning trophies after some of the most iconic golfers the world has ever seen.

Together we have the chance to change the lives of those who have sacrificed and endured so much so we might live full and free lives.

The National Golf Club Challenge

The National Golf Club Challenge is a charity golf day on a scale never seen before. The aim is to bring golf clubs throughout the UK together on the same weekend (24th & 25th July 2010) to hold hundreds of charity golf days – and compete to win some spectacular golf prizes.
