This week, Stoke Park, one of the finest parkland golf courses in the South of England registered to compete in the National Golf Club Challenge.

The Challenge will be held on the 24th and 25th July 2010 and will bring hundreds of golf clubs together on the same weekend as part of a nationwide charity golf event – with the aim of raising a million pounds for the Help for Heroes charity.

As well as helping raise money for charity, golfers at Stoke Park will compete with thousands of other golfers throughout the UK for some outstanding prizes – including golf holidays to Egypt.

Gary Player Sends a Message of Support
The most successful international golfer of all time, Gary Player has achieved the kind of worldwide acclaim reserved for only a handful of sporting greats. He is renowned as much for his dedication to the principles of excellence as he is for his golfing accomplishments.

Gary Player is the latest high profile golfer to lend his support to the challenge and joins a host of players which include the likes of Ian Poulter, Oli Fisher, Nick Dougherty, Sam Torrance, Simon Dyson and Christie O Connor Jnr.

The National Golf Club Challenge Final
Ten golfers from the top six scoring clubs will be invited to play in The Grand Final. The Final, sponsored by YourGolfTravel.com, will be held over two days in October at The Belfry, four times host to the Ryder Cup.

The Help for Heroes National Golf Club Champions will win seven nights (for the winning ten golfers) at the 5 star Marriott Taba Heights Resort on the Sinai Peninsula.

Help for Heroes was the idea of appeal chairman Bryn Parry and a group of friends and relations. They wanted to help wounded soldiers returning home from combat and came up with several fundraising ideas which led to Help for Heroes being born.
