The National Golf Club Challenge Final
11th & 12th of October 2010 at The Belfry
Sponsored by YourGolfTravel.com
Fifth Place – Weston-super-Mare Golf Club
Weston-super-Mare Golf Club is an attractive links course situated at the southern end of Weston Bay, with superb views across the Bristol Channel, past Brean Down, Steep Holm and Flat Holm towards Cardiff. In summer the greens are fast and true; the fairways tight and the rough punishing. In winter the course is rarely closed and is always played off real tees. Temporary greens are used occasionally when hard frosts prevail.
Message from the Club Secretary
“We agreed to enter this competition on the suggestion by a couple of members, and the Captain was particularly keen to be involved. We were pleasantly surprised at the level of support from Club members for such a worthy cause. We are delighted that our guys have reached the final stages and would like to wish them and everyone involved the best of luck and hope they have a fantastic time! ”

Best Golfing Memory: Being elected as Club Captain for 2010 – achieving a hole in one on Captain’s Day during the Club’s centenary year in 1992.
Why I played: As an ex-service man who served 3 years in Northern Ireland during the early 80’s – I can truly appreciate the wonderful work our troops carry out. The majority of this work goes un-noticed. These brave men risk their lives unselfishly and for very little reward. |
