Get Involved in the UK’s Largest AM Charity Golf Event

The National Golf Club Challenge – 24th July 2010

On 24th & 25th July 2010, a week after the Open Championship at St. Andrews, we will see the largest AM golf event ever to take place in the UK. The National Golf Club Challenge will see golf clubs from across the UK compete to raise funds for the terrific Help for Heroes charity.

Ian Poulter – European Tour Player "I am so proud of our troops, their commitment and dedication is something that needs recognition. As a sportsman I can only imagine how difficult it is to deal with the debilitating injuries, both mentally and physically.

Help for Heroes provides an incredible support for these tough and inspiring people and I am proud that British golf clubs and golfers are giving their full support. I hope the National Golf Club Challenge raises a huge amount of money and that men and women all over the country have fun participating."

With numerous clubs already signed up for this great event we are expecting thousands of golfers to be competing over this weekend as they do battle to become the National Golf Club Challenge Champions for 2010.

Stacey Jeffries, from Pure Golf Events said about organising the event “The idea for the National Golf Club Challenge was born out of wanting to assist the excellent Help for Heroes charity.”

“Our solution” Stacey continues “was to organise a national golf competition in which every golfer in the United Kingdom could participate. The Challenge, to be held on 24th (or 25th) July 2010, will bring hundreds of golf clubs, and thousands of golfers together on the same day to demonstrate our support for our injured armed forces.”

The format is very simple; the challenge will coincide with each participating golf club's monthly stableford event with each club turning the day into their own charity event, raising much needed funds for Help for Heroes. The competing clubs will submit their aggregate scores from the top 10 players. This will determine the top 6 golf clubs against standard scratch, who will then be invited to compete in the National Final, which will take place at one of the UK's premier golfing venues.

The National Golf Club Challenge Champions will win a week long trip to Marriott Taba Heights courtesy of Marriott Taba Heights, Peltours and Taba Heights Golf Resort while second place will win a golf break courtesy of Your Golf Travel.com, with numerous other prizes on offer from the likes of Titleist, Motocaddy, American Golf, Glenbrae, Marriott Sawgrass Resort Florida and YES! Golf, meaning those who make it to the National final will be playing for some fantastic golfing prizes.
