THE BELFRY TO HOST THE FINAL OF THE 2010 NATIONAL GOLF CLUB CHALLENGE

The Final of the UK's Biggest Charity Amateur Golf Event will be Played at The Belfry

The Belfry, UK headquarters of the PGA and spiritual home of the Ryder Cup will host The National Golf Club Challenge 2010 Final, in aide of the Help for Heroes charity.

The Grand Final, to be held on 11th and 12th October 2010, will be the conclusion to what is expected to be the largest charity golf event the UK has seen.

"We are delighted to be hosting The National Golf Club Challenge final in October 2010 and to be involved in this very worthwhile cause." Adam Ward, Golf Account Manager, The Belfry.

Thousands of golfers, from hundreds of golf clubs around the UK, will compete in The National Golf Club Challenge by playing at their local Help for Heroes charity fundraiser on 24th or 25th July 2010. The six top scoring clubs will then go forward to the final, where they will compete for some fantastic golf prizes, and to be crowned the 2010 National Golf Club Champions.

The two day Grand Final will be hosted by The Belfry, one of the world's leading golf resorts, and four times host to the Ryder Cup. The two day event will include a practice day, golf clinic, overnight accommodation, the final competition, a gala dinner, guest speakers and the prize presentations.

"Holding the Grand Final at The Belfry will provide a superb conclusion to the 2010 National Golf Club Challenge, and will help us raise much needed funds for our wounded armed forces."

The National Golf Club Challenge Champions will win a luxurious golfing holiday to Marriott Taba Heights, and get to play on the prestigious Taba Heights Golf Resort.

Second place will win a golf break courtesy of Your Golf Travel.com, with numerous other prizes on offer from the likes of Titleist, Motocaddy, American Golf, Peltours, Glenbrae, Marriott Sawgrass Resort Florida and YES! Golf. Meaning the golfers that make it to the National Final will be playing for some fantastic golfing prizes, as well as having the privilege of playing on the same course as some of the greatest players including Ballesteros, Woods and Faldo.

Help for Heroes was the idea of appeal chairman Bryn Parry and a group of friends and relations. They wanted to help wounded soldiers returning home from combat and came up with several fundraising ideas which led to Help for Heroes being born. The Charity are completely non political and accept wars happen under any government, all they want to do with the help of the British public, is to assist our wounded heroes.
